Counseling Kids: Anger Activity
When counseling a child struggling with anger, we think through Ephesians 4:26: "Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger." Then, we make up our very own Anger Menu together detailing what we can do with our anger instead of sinning against God.
We label it together a MENU in the box on the left. Some call it an Anger Menu. Some call it a Mad Menu. We talk about the things that make us angry, mad, irritated, annoyed, frustrated, and the things that get on our nerves. We talk about ways we've responded in anger that were sinful.
Then, we fill in our menu with ways we can respond when we're angry that honor God and are not sinful. Together, we brainstorm about places we can go, words we can say, ways we can move our bodies, faces we can make, and prayers we can pray.
At Temple Care Biblical Counseling, our hope is come alongside the struggling and offer the hope found in the Word of God - no matter the age. If you or someone you know needs hope and help, please reach out!
